1. Strengthen CUNY flagship and college priority programs, and continuously update curricula and program mix
1.1 Resources will be shifted to Univ. flagship and college priority programs to support the Univ.’s commitment to become a research-intensive institution
1.1.1 Develop 5 new credit programs (Biology; certificate in Entrepreneurship; Environmental Engineering; Environmental Science; Theatre) to be sent to CUNY governance by June 2009.

1.4 Colleges will use technology to enrich courses and teaching
1.4.1 Provide mini-grants to selected academic programs and launch a new capstone seminar for faculty to: a) advance comprehensive ePortfolio integration within programmatic curricula; and b) align instruction more closely with programmatic and general education competencies.

1.4.2 Refine "Designed for Learning" technology seminar to explore new Web 2.0 applications and build a foundation for future ePortfolio innovations.

1.4.3 Use technology to enrich CUNY Catch GED/Pre-GED and Veterans courses for at least 100 students who will use ePortfolio to increase retention.

1.4.4 The Immersion Program will pilot two new technology tools to enhance English language, speaking and pronunciation instruction.

1.4.5 Through the creation of a computer lab in the Pre-hospital Care Lab, 300 students will achieve certification as first responders.

1.4.6 Adult & Continuing Education will create a 28 station digital media center to provide access to new technology for over 1,000 ESL students.

1.5 Offer high quality non-credit programs to strengthen community economy and cultural life (LaGCC)
1.5.1 Obtain contracts with 12 new businesses/agencies to provide training and workforce related services to increase the portfolio from 14 to 26 private sector businesses.

1.5.2 Assist at least 285 start-up or existing businesses with special attention to immigrant and international businesses, to generate $3.0M in capital through business loans, equity investments or grants and government contract/subcontract awards.

1.5.3 Create a performing arts incubator at LPAC for NYC artists and arts organizations and host at least a dozen artists/arts groups who will be in residence at the college in 08-09.

Faculty publications/creative work will increase by 6%, from 50 to 53, supported in part by the Carnegie Seminar, the Faculty Publications workshop and In Transit: The LaGuardia Journal on Teaching and Learning.
