Degree and Career

• The Mortuary Science program at LaGuardia leads to an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and a career as a funeral service practitioner.
• It is a program that runs in conjunction with the American Academy McAllister Institute for Funeral Services. The AAMI is nationally accredited by the Board of Funeral Service Education.
• Students spend the first year at LaGuardia completing 27 liberal arts and unrestricted elective credits. The second year of the program is taught at AAMI, where the necessary practical training and coursework in mortuary science are completed.
